The RKL Education Foundation continues to provide annual scholarships and awards for deserving high school graduates from Gwinnett County Public Schools. Scholarship is one of three major components of the mission of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and its Rho Kappa Lambda Chapter located in Gwinnett County. It is a privilege to assist in aiding students with financial support as they pursue their higher education goals.
This year, the Education Foundation awarded 10 scholarships and awards.
The following $3000 scholarships were awarded:
Oliver Hunter HBCU Scholarship – Loren Fuller, Grayson High School
Gloria & Clarence Lockett HBCU/STEAM Scholarship – Sanai Neblett, Dacula High School
The following $2000 scholarships were awarded:
Earnest Gibson Memorial Scholarship – Mohammad Nazimi, Grayson High School
Eddie Nesby Memorial Scholarship – Ethan Haskell, Brookwood High School
Jeffery Lamar Memorial Scholarship – Cameron Rainer, Grayson High School
Ruby & Essie Lee Memorial Scholarship – Maya Oliver, Shiloh High School
Pamela & Grace Sarjeant Scholarship – Skilar Brooks, Parkview High School
The following awards were made to three young men to recognize community service and demonstrated leadership abilities in the Future Men of Distinction Program (FMOD).
$1500 – Ayomide Laosun, South Gwinnett High School
$1000 – Kahvon Mitchell, Collins Hill High School
$500 – Brent Lockhart, Archer High School
